OUR FAITH STATEMENTS:
What we believe about:
GOD:
> One eternal God in three co-existent persons - Father,   Son and Holy Spirit
> Creator of man and all things
> Really exists and loves and cares about people
(Matthew 3:16-17; Genesis 1:1-27; Acts 17:24-28; John 1:1-4; 3:16)
JESUS CHRIST:
> God's only Son and Savior of the world
> Born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully   divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and of the virgin   Mary
> Died and was buried, and physically rose again from   the dead on the third day
> Will return from heaven to earth to judge the living   and the dead
(John 3:16, 20:24-31; Matthew 1:18, 21:11; Colossians 2:9; Luke 23:44-24:8; 1Corinthians 15:3-8; John 14:1-3; Acts 10:39-42)
THE HOLY SPIRIT:
> Active in the world eternally and co-equal with the   Father and the Son of God
> Present in the world to make men aware of the need   for Jesus Christ and to provide Christ followers with   the power to live the way He wants us to
> Indewells every believer and gifts each of us for   ;service
(John 16:7-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27; 1Corinthians 3:16, 12:1-11)
THE BIBLE:
> Is God's Word to us
> Was written by men guided by the Holy Spirit
> Is the ultimate source of truth and authority
> Is our guidebook for living
> Is without error
(Acts 1:16; Isaiah 40:8; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2Timothy 3:16-17)
SALVATION:
> Is a gift from God
> Cannot be earned
> Comes by the grace of God through faith in Jesus   Christ
(Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8-11; Ephesian 2:8-9; 1John 1:7)
BAPTISM:
> Was modeled by Jesus
> Was commanded by Jesus
> Was integral part of conversion process of the first   church in Acts
> Is the outward expression of faith in Christ and   something that everyone who accepts his Lordship   should want to do.
> Immersion is the Biblical pattern/mode.
(Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38; 2:41; Colossians 2:12; Romans 6:3-5)
BECOMING A FOLLOWER: OF CHRIST
The Bible teaches this pattern to follow to become a Christ follower:
- Place one's faith in Christ as Savior of the World
- Repent of personal sin
- Confess Jesus Christ as Lord
- Be immersed in baptism
(Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; 2Peter 3:9)
